Assettrac Proves Its Cyber Credentials with Cyber Essentials Plus

Assettrac, the online asset management software specialists, are delighted to announce that it has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification for its market-leading asset tracking and management software. 

The Cyber Essentials scheme, led by the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is designed to help businesses and importantly, software developers, protect against the most common cyber threats for themselves and their clients.

Why Cyber Essentials Plus is Important for Asset Management Software

Assettrac takes the responsibility for managing its clients’ data seriously.  A long-term holder of the Cyber Essentials accreditation, achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification adds a higher level of assurance for its software clients by passing a third-party technical controls audit.

The certification and audit demands that Assettrac’s software and the company’s wider IT infrastructure passes tests on 5 key cyber security controls: firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection and security update management. Every instance of Assettrac software is unique to its client with data held in the cloud, Assettrac’s Commercial Director, James Laing comments,

Cyber Essentials Plus audits are undertaken by NCSC accredited audits via the IASME Foundation.  Certification is renewed following annual audits to ensure that the certifying company maintains its cyber security standards.
